This is the second-oldest gastronomic festival in Galicia, with origins dating back to 1959.
Since then, it has been held every year without interruption on the last weekend of August. The festival’s various activities take place inside the impressive stone fortress, an exceptional setting in which to enjoy its renowned wines.
During the three-day celebration, visitors can taste this outstanding local product accompanied by the region’s rich gastronomy. Throughout the festival, exhibitions, performances and concerts also take place, adding to the lively atmosphere of these food and wine celebrations.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to taste Condado do Tea white wine, a distinctive wine from this subzone, produced under the quality controls of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin. This unique wine is the result of a perfect combination of different native grape varieties and has been praised by leading figures in Galician gastronomy, including the renowned Galician writer Álvaro Cunqueiro in his book “A cociña galega“.
In 2016, the Festa do Viño do Condado do Tea was officially declared a Galician Festival of Tourist Interest.
