The Alvarinho and Smoked Meat Festival of Melgaço is a food and wine event that celebrates and promotes the region’s excellent products, namely Alvarinho wine, traditional smoked meats, and typical sweets.
It attracts visitors from all over the country and neighboring Spain, who find opportunities for free and guided Alvarinho tastings, competitions for traditional products, and entertainment throughout the event. It has become a national benchmark, highlighting local identity, wine tourism, and innovation, with exhibitors from producers, restaurants, showcookings, and parallel nature and adventure activities.
