Terras da Nóbrega Square re-establishes itself as the epicenter of Barqueiros’ traditions with the return of the now-called Traditions and the Rural World Festival, taking place between May 8th and 10th. The inclusion of the “Rural World” component is one of the novelties of the 2026 edition, reflecting a clear commitment to strengthening the connection to the land, agricultural practices, and the rural identity of the municipality.
The 2026 edition is renewed, more ambitious, and with a clear reinforcement of its rural character, valuing ancestral knowledge. For three days, the venue transforms into a space for community celebration, bringing together around 20 local producers in the areas of honey, olive oil, and handicrafts, and various associations from the municipality, in an environment where authenticity and community involvement take center stage. The focus on the rural world translates into a specific program, with workshops on beekeeping, olive growing and native breeds, sheep shearing demonstrations, presentations on traditional species and reenactments such as the emblematic Flax Spinning.
