A tradition in Portugal that involves groups of men and women walking through the streets at the beginning of the year, singing from door to door, wishing people a Happy New Year, and receiving gifts. It takes place in January, the first month of the year.
In this event, the Municipality of Melgaço organises a stage performance featuring all the groups from the municipality. It is usually held on the last Saturday of January.
