Entrudo of Melgaço

Venue: Largo Hermenegildo Solheiro – Vila de Melgaço

This event takes place as part of the Carnival celebrations, with the aim of offering an entertainment programme for local communities and for visitors. We strive to promote Melgaço’s traditions, in particular by reviving and showcasing the farrangalheiros of Castro Laboreiro (an emblematic character of the Entrudo in Melgaço), and by promoting Carnival traditions from the cross-border territory. It is usually held on the Saturday before Carnival Tuesday.
