Lisbon once again became a meeting point for the tourism sector, and River Minho brought the city a simple invitation: discover a destination lived on two banks and felt as one. Visit Rio Minho Plus and the River Minho brand took part in BTL, Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market (Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa), at FIL, Parque das Nações, from 25 February to 1 March 2026.
The destination presentation took place in the auditorium of the Turismo do Porto e Norte (TPNP) stand on 26 February at 12:00 and was designed to engage trade audiences in a dynamic way, highlighting the range of experiences available along the River Minho.
The session was hosted by the Portuguese actor Luís Lourenço, from Vila Nova de Cerveira, who took on the role of host and facilitator, inviting visitors to join in a participatory experience in the auditorium.
The event opened with the screening of the Visit Rio Minho Plus video, featuring landscapes, heritage and activities across the territory, setting the scene for what followed. Participants were then challenged to take part in a quiz about Heritage, Food and Wine, Nature, Nautical Tourism e Culture. Throughout the game, the presenter added context and local insights, guiding participants towards the correct answers and strengthening the discovery of the destination through interaction.
At the end, River Minho branded gifts were handed out and three experiences in the destination were awarded: a two-person stay, a local gastronomy dinner, and a river-based nautical experience. The initiative ended with a convivial moment and a tasting of local products from both banks, with a particular focus on traditional sweets, bread, smoked cured meats, cheeses and wines, celebrating the territory’s shared identity through food as well.
The presence at BTL forms part of an ongoing strategy to promote the River Minho brand, with participation planned in tourism fairs in Spain throughout 2026, strengthening the destination’s visibility in key markets: Turexpo Galicia (Silleda), 4–7 June 2026; Xantar (Ourense), 19–22 November 2026; and INTUR (Valladolid), 12–15 November 2026.
With this coordinated presence across different promotional platforms, the River Minho consolidates its position as a cross-border destination of excellence, where nature, culture and wine and gastronomy stand out as expressions of a shared identity.
